Thing Thing Arena - Thing Thing 4 Review:
The final chapter of your human, I mean half-cyborg, half-human life - but by this time, you probably know that. Anyway, you will finally unfold in the last installment of the series which is Thing Thing 4, and of course you can play the game here at Thing Thing Arena.
Thing Thing 4 starts with what the previous sequel left hanging. You killed the Hades prototype, escaped and had a totally cool flashback of what happened in the previous chapters. The cut scenes here in Thing Thing 4 are way more awesome than in the previous installments. The graphics and animations are obviously fruits of hard work. This just goes to show that the Thing Thing games certainly got even better in every sequel. Putting these flashbacks in the beginning of the game is also nice, especially for players who will play Thing Thing for the first time.
As expected, Thing Thing 4 packs up on improvements when it comes to features. In the creation of the character, you can now choose your face aside from your head gear or hairstyle, clothes, and shoes. Now, there is a new weapon system that lets you equip two of your weapons and enables you to switch between them. Similarly, you can now throw empty guns at your enemies to knock them back a bit while you change into a loaded gun.
When it comes to the weapons, it just gets more and more interesting. There are very unique and powerful guns in this game including the Gauss Pistol and Gauss Shotgun (both emit potent blue light streaks), the Universal Bean Pistol (If you ever dreamed of killing the annoying mercenaries with beans, this is a must!), the XM-345 Skull Drill (if you want to torture your opponents and see their head getting drilled), the EX 41 and GL-06 Flechette (both release powerful bombs), the N.U.K.E which is beyond-words awesome and exactly what you need when you are surrounded by a big crowd of enemies, the Laser Cannon which emits a thick red laser light that blasts all enemies in its direction, the lead pipe which is a handy melee weapon you can use if you are out of ammos, and many others.
There are also some features from the previous installment that were maintained in Thing Thing 4 such as the somersault jump, the minimum recoil (depending on your weapon), the dash/run function that replaced the punch function, and others.
Thing Thing 4, as one of the Thing Thing collections in Thing Thing Arena, has turned the game into a hardcore action with gore factor that is greater than its predecessors. In this sequel, depending on the power of your gun, you will see your assailants have headless bodies, see their guns, brains, and fractured skulls blown away as you blast them with powerful weapons, and see the walls bathed in blood as you kill masses of mercenaries.
The verdict is that Thing Thing 4 lived up to the expectations and is totally worth the wait. Some players may not like how the story turns or ends, but the Thing Thing series is surely a flash game hit that will go down in history! So if you want to relive the good ol’ Thing Thing times, you can alwayscome back to Thing Thing Arena and play the Thing Thing series over and over again to your heart’s content.
